Hannah Adams is a MPP-MPH dual degree student originally from Southern Maryland, and now lives in Waynesboro, VA. She graduated from James Madison University in May 2017 with a Bachelors of Science degree, where she majored in Public Health Education.

Karly B. Ball is from Pipestem, West Virginia. She graduated magna cum laude from Wake Forest University in May 2018 with a B.A. in English and Politics and International Affairs. She’s interested in invisible disability accommodations in the transition to postsecondary education. Following graduation, Karly served as an assistant to health policy consultants in Washington, D.C. In her role, she worked primarily with patient advocacy groups and issues related to telehealth. Upon graduation from the Frank Batten School, she hopes to research disability policy at a university or federal education agency.

Emily Barksdale is an education advocate and former teacher seeking to impact our country’s public education system. A native West Virginian, Barksdale spent the last 7 years in Dallas, TX after graduating with high honors from Furman University in 2012 with a B.A. in Asian Studies and a minor in Latin American studies. She is an alumna of Kappa Kappa Gamma, Omicron Delta Kappa, Teach For America, the Teaching Trust, the CAMP Fellowship, and Leadership ISD who enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, playing soccer, and singing karaoke in her free time. Upon graduation from the Batten School, Emily aspires to work as the education policy advisor for an elected official and elevate teacher and student voices in the policy conversation.
