Fred Gui is a postdoctoral research associate at the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy, working with the Center for Effective Lawmaking. Fred's research interests include American political institutions, interest groups, state and local politics, and racial and ethnic politics. Fred's most recent project examines the impact of having racial diverse staffers on the corresponding legislators' choices to sponsor and copsonsor civil rights and immigration bills. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Rochester, and an M.A. in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University.
