Resources Student Resources Batten Student Support Services Batten Student Support Services Anne Butz, Staff Psychotherapist Anne Butz (pronounced “Boots”) is the Batten School’s embedded psychotherapist, working in partnership with UVA’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) team to provide on-site services for Batten BA and MPP students. Anne is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who graduated with her Masters in Social Work in 1999. She has worked predominantly in the public sector, providing individual and group therapy in community mental health settings throughout Central Virginia. She's also worked for the commonwealth providing regulatory oversight of a variety of behavioral health programs for a little over a decade. Anne's areas of interest and experience include: adjustment issues, depression, anxiety, advocacy, trauma, and coping with chronic illness. Anne holds a degree in art, specifically painting and drawing. In her free time, Anne enjoys spending quality time with her dog and enjoys gardening, hiking, time with friends and family, travel, and painting.
